ATTENTION: Future Leaders

The First Nations Fiscal Management Act (FMA) institutions and the Land Advisory Board (LAB) encourage interested First Nations youth ages 18-30 to apply to take part in this year’s 6th annual First Nations Leading the Way (FNLW) conference in Gatineau, Quebec, from November 14th to 16th, 2023. This is an opportunity for youth enrolled in post-secondary education or in a volunteer position with their First Nation’s governance to learn more about the FMA institutions offerings and the LAB, hear inspiring success stories, and bring a youth voice and vision to discussions around First Nations’ economic development. We believe that by empowering and supporting First Nation Youth, we can pave the way for a brighter future for all.

Why attend?

There will be sharing of knowledge, experiences and innovative ideas that will shape the future of our communities. We value youth presence and participation and hope that meeting and engaging with other like-minded individuals, as well as our distinguished speakers, will be both inspiring and informative for youth participants.

Youth participants will be provided:

  • most direct and economical travel bookings to and from Gatineau, QC,
  • meals during the event and per-diems to cover your time in transit,
  • AND accommodations at the Holiday Inn Gatineau

More information on First Nations Leading the Way and the youth application form can be found here. Once completed, please send to info@fnleadingtheway.com.
